There really is no comparison of modern furniture to Antique Mahogany Furniture. Most furniture today is made in China, India, or Indonesia and is designed mainly to have an expensive look, and a cheap price. They use cheap materials, such as particle board (saw dust and glue) or they use fiberboard (fibers and glue) for the furniture's structure. Many of the earlier pieces of antique furniture will be constructed of solid cherry, or solid walnut, or solid mahogany with hand cut or machine cut dovetails in the front and back. The interiors will even be made out of high grade lumbers, such as mahogany, walnut, and cherry. The nicest thing about antique furniture is the fact that it has already proven that it can stand the test of time. Another nice feature is when you purchase  antique furniture the value goes up.   1. Great selection! found the dresser I was looking for on the first page. Hard to find antique furniture anymore, at least furniture thats in good shape.
